sunday september 21, 9 am - 11 am, santa fe location tba Ever wanted to know which wild plants you can eat, steep for tea or use as an emergency bandaid? Join Calixte Raifsnider, our guest teacher, for an introductory plant identification class focusing on Santa Fe’s regional edible and useful wild plants and how to sustainably harvest, process and prepare them. These multi-sensory classes teach only invasive and super common plants, with respect for the land we are on.
Santa Fe class will be in the riparian and juniper-piñon uplands. (Location specifics will be emailed to participants the week of the class.)
Guest Teacher Bio: Calixte has been trudging the arroyos and other wild landscapes of the Southwest since she was small. Her studies of herbalism and food as medicine have spanned over 20 years. As a plant witch, poet, and gardener, she believes that remarkable things happen when we slow down to listen and learn from our local ecosystems.
$25/adult, $10/child. Kids 5 and under free.
